Epiphany continues the Skybourne Series with a symbolic arrival that cuts through a quiet daisy field at dusk/dawn. A sparrow is flushed from its landing path, a dark unfamiliar moon hangs above, as this fast-moving form streaks across the maroon landscape like the epiphany it is. Soft textures, layered marks, and atmospheric motion create a world where meaning feels close but never fixed. It is done in mixed media on maroon sanded paper with ink, acrylic and watercolor.
Artist’s Note
Epiphany is built around the moment something breaks through — a form hurtling from the sky, a sparrow startled into flight, a field holding its breath. The maroon sanded paper sets the tone for a world where revelation feels both ancient and otherworldly. The dark moon isn’t ours, the light behind the mountains could be rising or fading, and the incoming shape carries a static edge that suggests speed, omen, or arrival. Like all Skybourne works, the meaning isn’t given. It’s felt in the tension between land and sky, in the instant before impact, and in the quiet space where the viewer decides what has arrived — because messages, mystic or otherwise, only change the course of a life when someone chooses to act on them.
