⭐ Artist’s Note — Tattered

Tattered began with the idea of forms that look like cloth but are actually carved — shapes that feel torn, wind‑caught, or snagged on a ring that peeks through in small bursts. The piece shifts depending on its orientation, moving between hanging on for dear life and waving in the breeze. 

As I worked, it began to echo something more personal: how the beliefs we start with rarely survive our life experience intact. What remains are the remnants of the beliefs we began with — altered, frayed, but stronger, reshaped by the lives we actually lived. One version was more beautiful; the last was more real — the kind of truth that comes after the shipwreck, when you’re standing in what’s left and realizing you are still alive but profoundly altered by what life has taught you. Life is more real and you know in your bones why you believe what you believe.

• Canvas Material: FSC-certified wood stretcher bars, cotton-polyester blend (300-350gsm, 350-400 microns).

• Frame Colors: Black, Dark Brown.
• Sustainable Wood: FSC-certified or locally sourced poplar or pine.
• High-Quality Printing: Long-lasting, vibrant colors.
• Hanging Kit: Included, varies by country.
• Frame Dimensions: The width (the front of the frame) is 9 to 14 mm wide (0.35" to 0.55"), with thickness varying by region— 42 mm (1.65") in North America and 32 mm (1.26") in Europe. A 12 mm (0.45") gap between the canvas and frame ensures a snug fit.
• Canvas frame: Canvas products mounted in the frames are slim.
